Sofitel Manila 2017: CNY, Valentines Day and Japanese Food Festival

Sofitel Philippine Plaza Manila featured three different kinds of food special for January and February 2017. I can say that the 1st two months of 2017 at Sofitel Manila will magnet food lovers, foodies and Spiral fans because three themes will feature three kinds of food.

 Lots of food are prepared and new dishes are presented in observance of three celebration -- Chinese New Year, Valentines Day and Japanese Food Festival.

ABUNDANCE: CELEBRATING THE YEAR OF THE ROOSTER
AT SOFITEL MANILA


Spiral's Chinese Chef Michael Tai prepared a set of dish that came from three kinds of Chinese Cuisine: Cantonese, Hakka and Sze Chuan. Each dish featured are inspired from the Year of the Rooster's message and symbolism -- promises prosperity, happiness and opportunities.

The Year of the Rooster specials will be available at Sprial from January 25-29, 2017.

OBANZAI: THE FLAVORS OF KYOTO AT SPIRAL 

From January 16-22, 2017, prepare to explore the flavors of Kyoto at Spiral Manila with their Japanese food festival theme "Obanzai". Spiral Manila's master artisan Chef Hiromi Yonekawa will feature the best of Japan and also dishes from his hometown, Kyoto.

The special selection of Obanzai dishes feature: Ebi Kimini (Prawn twisted into flower shapes); Kohaku Namasu (Healthy Vinegar Salad); Onsen Tamago (Silky Egg Whites and Custard-like Yolk); Hiyayakko which is made with chilled tofu and toppings; Cold Somen (White Japanese Noodle made of wheat flour); Saba Misoni (Mackarel cooked in miso sauce); Kuri Acharazuke

I heard that the occupancy at Sofitel Manila is almost fully booked for February 14 Valentines Day. But if you have successfully acquired a room, then you are indeed lucky that you get to celebrate the month of hearts with your loved one at the luxurious hotel here in Manila.  This month, their booking office are now open and ready to accept guest with entitle to a Valentines day special room rate.

For Spiral's offering for Valentines Day, they feature the 21 magical spices that can make our love life more colorful and tastier. 21 spices are: saffron, ginger, basil, ginseng, ras el hanout cinnamon, vanilla, pink pepper, galangal, cayenne pepper, nutmeg, thyme, curry, coriander, turmeric, mustard seed, star anise, cardamom, shichimi (Japanese spice mixture), paprika and chili.

All these 21 spices are used in each featured dishes by Chef Alain Rion, the Master Artisan for the French Stove and Restaurant Operations  at Spiral.

Each 21 atelier of Spiral Manila will have each of these spices, from French atelier, Filipino atelier, Chinese atelier, Indian atelier and Korean atelier.
