NTC EDSA Free WIFI - which area have the fastest internet ?

We've waiting for years to have a fast internet connection, some cities in the country are experimenting on how they can offer FREE internet to the public. In other countries its been happening already for years that they are serving FREE internet in public park and also in some tourist site. I've tested this when I was in HK and I just hope that we can have it too.

Shopping centers and cafe offer FREE wifi already but in limited time and bandwidth. But where can we have more of it?

Our government agencies are now teaming up with private companies to offer a FREE wifi to the public. Months ago, they've launch the EDSA FREE WIFI PROJECT, its a project of our NTC to offer high speed internet to the transport public.

Last July 6-7, NTC conducted a speed test using OOKLA Speed Test app to determine the average WIFI internet speed and this reveals that users can experience a download and upload speed up to 156.6 mbps

NTC shared to us that Ortigas MRT station got the fastest download speed of 325.48 mbps, while Magallanes MRT station got the highest upload speed up to 310.57 mbps

Take note that it will depend on the specs of your smartphone, tablet or laptop to receive the same speed bandwidth.

Today NTC informed us that these MRT stations - Taft Ave, North Avenue, Cubao, Ayala, Shaw and Boni Ave MRT Stations are receiving the most heaviest and busiest usage of the FREE Wifi.

NTC also gathered a data the total number of commuters using the FREE WIFI. A total of 230,000 users of FREE WIFI daily, thats from the 444,044 average MRT riders in a daily basis.

Wow! now you know where to upload and download when using the FREE internet by our NTC.

Have you tried using it? how was it? feel free to post your review in our comment section below.

As for me, Im going to visit the two MRT station and conduct my own speed test.
